When I first started working at Texas Oncology I was happy. Then after about 5 years there new management came in and everybody began to be micro-managed. It made the Dept. Managers stressed which reflected on the staff. By the end of my tenure with them, they made it mandatory that you pick an employee in the building every month and give them a 'shining star' and explain what that employee did above and beyond. It was hard to come up with someone to pick for a 'shining star' because I didn't get exposure to very many people outside my dept. because we were so busy that it was hard to see what other people were doing. If we didn't get this done every month, we would be written up. That in turn would be reflected on our yearly evaluation. Besides that I was unhappy about the way I was treated by my supervisor. She would show bias between the older employees as compared to the way she treated the younger employees. I was part of the older employees. I got in trouble for doing certain things and the younger employee would do the same thing and not get in trouble. It was a very miserable time.
